Just 5hrs 30mins from Paris and 60 minutes from Geneva, 5 interconnected resorts make up the 4th largest ski area in the French Alps (265 kilometres of runs).

Le Grand Massif offers an astonishing combination: breath-taking 360° views, picture-postcard mountain villages and high altitude ski resorts, a 2,500 metre summit facingMont Blanc, a variety of unusual landscapes, a wide range of ski runs and abundant, regular snow cover: exceptional!

There’s no end of superlatives to describe the most accessible of all the major ski areas.

We love ski activities…

It’s bursting with unexpected treasures and boasts something to delight everyone:

  • the magical Cascades blue run, with a 14 kilometre descent winding through local wildlife habitats (chamois goats, eagles, ibexes…)
  • La Combe de Gers: a wild 700 metre vertical drop over virgin snow, with a black run for experienced skiers
  • Dedicated beginners’ areas: Marvel green run, Kédeuze gondola lift area, free magic carpets at Le Pré in Flaine…
  • Fun speed-skiing areas: speed experience zone, and for freestylers: cool zone oasis, the forest…

« Off the beaten track »...

Discover extraordinary places that will take you “off the beaten track” and create unforgettable holiday memories:

  • Take a car (not yours!) for a ride and glide on France’s largest ice driving track, in Flaine: beginner sessions with qualified instructors and advanced courses.
  • You can also drive around the ice track in a buggy!
  • The spirit of the Far North: on the programme, trappers’ night in Les Carroz with an introduction to night-time dog-sledding, including an evening meal in a slopeside inn.
  • Big air bag : On skis or wedged into an inflatable rubber ring, launch onto the slopes and take off into the air before landing in complete safety on an enormous inflatable mattress.
  • Ski with an Olympic skiing champion (Antoine Dénériaz) in Morillon : join the “Dénériaz Ski Académy” during the holidays (for children who already have the “étoile d’or” qualification)
  • Valentine’s Day beneath the stars: a magical aperitif in the Les Carroz gondola lift for couples.
  • “One man shows” in Flaine during the February school holidays: treat yourself to an auditorium stand-up show at a great price: Mickael Grégorio, Kev Adams, Virgine Hocq, François Xavier Demaison, Arnaud Ducret, Max Boublil, Mora Hamzawi, Mathieu Madenian and many more have already set the stage alight.
  • Flaine 18-hole golf course: 4 ½ hours of golf at an altitude of 1,800 metres with absolutely stunning views.
  • Ski joëring in Morillon: A new sport, a new discipline! Choice of 3 gaits: walking for the least confident, trotting for those with experience and galloping for hardened ski joërers. Accessible to everyone, there’s no need to be a strong skier, you just have to be able to stay upright! Ski joëring involves being pulled along on skis by a horse.
  • Ice climbing: Try it out with the supervision of a high-mountain guide.
